l'entreprise fut fondée en 1935 ou en 1938 (il existe des versions discordantes sur ce point), par Hermann Böhler, un des deux fondateurs de la marque Osmia qui laissa cette entreprise après son acquisition définitive par Faber-Castell, survenue en 1935.
