Tutto ciò renderebbe comunque la [[Nettuno]] il più antico produttore di stilografiche italiano, al pari di [[Tibaldi]] almeno per quanto riguarda l'anno di fondazione. Non è chiaro però quando la produzione di stilografiche sia effettivamente iniziata. La prima carta intestata infatti parla di ricambi e riparazioni. Inoltre, almeno per i primi tempi, la produzione avveniva assemblando i pezzi prodotti da altri in casa dello stesso ''Umberto Vecchietti'' da parte della sua stessa famiglia; trattasi pertanto più di una attività a conduzione familiare che di una vera fabbrica di penne stilografiche.

It is unclear however when the fountain pens production has actually begun. The first letterhead fact speaks for spare parts and repairs. Furthermore, at least for the first time, production was done assembling the pieces produced by others in the ''Umberto Vecchietti'' own house  by his own family; therefore, this is more of a family business than a real  fountain pens factory.
