La [[Aurora]] venne fondata nel [[1919]] a Torino, come ''Fabbrica Italiana Penne a Serbatoio Aurora'', da Isaia Levi, un ricco finanziere e commerciante di tessuti, che subito dopo la prima guerra mondiale decise di investire nella produzione di questo strumento di scrittura. Levi già vedeva una presenza di tanti piccoli produttori nel distretto industriale di Settimo Torinese, ma decise di dare alla propria azienda una direzione precisa orientandola verso una produzione industriale che fosse all'avanguardia sia in termini tecnici che qualitativi, ma anche con una forte spinta verso la commercializzazione dei propri prodotti con iniziative pubblicitarie ed un sopporto molto accurato alle reti di vendita.
