La [[Parker]] nacque a Janesville in Wisconsin nel 1889 ad opera di ''George Safford Parker'', che in precedenza aveva operato come rivenditore della [[Holland|John Holland Pen Company]]. George Parker, che lavorava come insegnante di telegrafia, arrotondava con il commercio delle penne. Trovandosi a riparare le penne che vendeva, iniziò a migliorarne il funzionamento, e visto che le sue penne modificate funzionavano meglio delle originali ed avevano successo, decise di fondare una sua azienda.
