Questi aveva creato e brevettato nel 1920 (brevetto {{Cite patent|US|1359880}}) un originale sistema di [[stantuffo tuffante|caricamento a pompa]], sostanzialmente identico allo [[stantuffo tuffante]] della [[OMAS]].
